Went back to Portobello Road/Notting Hill. Much more fun when it's not raining out! Easier to walk. More to see. More patience on our part. Maxine found a scarf for 1 pound. Looks great and an incredible price.
Had lunch in nearby Otto's pizza, which was a recommendation from a friend who'd recently gotten back from nearly a year in London. Corn meal crust. Interesting food ingredients. Maxine had the fabulous idea that we not fill up on pizza which would then give us room to go to Cafe Spice for dinner! Which we did. The waitress remembered us. Had, as I told her, our first and second best meals in London in their restaurant.
From Notting Hill we went over to Wallace Sewell's retail store. They're weavers and I'd been obsessing about their scarves since I'd seen then at the British Museum gift shop (and also at the Tate Britain gift shop). And, had looked them up online. Bought 2 scarves. Not all that useful in LA, but when we're in NJ, or whereever...
